About the Artist
Stéphane Lord studied photography in Montreal several years ago but his major turning point was in 1995, when he met his first model from the Gothic scene. That encounter led to expanding his ideas on moods created around the Gothic style. Having visited England fifteen times in fourteen years, he found most of his inspiration there. The Medieval and Victorian eras, which are reflected in his work, blend with backgrounds to create the flavor of old England. The Pre-Raphaelites are a big influence in his art and although Gothic imagery will always be what he prefers, recently he has also incorporated the elements of mythology and fairies. Additional galleries of his can be seen at www.darkfairies.co.uk

When her daughter Persephone was kidnapped by Hades, she grieved very deeply; Demeter let the earth grow barren, and only when Persephone was returned to her, six months of the year, did she let the earth become fruitful again.
