Crimson Empress
Countessa
I am dedicated to creating well-made, individualized garments that maintain an imperative to beauty with provocative tones that make the wearer feel desirable while preserving their own distinctive style. My goal is to supply quality custom apparel at reasonable prices while still creating genuinely unique works that can be worn from the most special occasions to attire suitable for everyday wear and want to translate clothing dreams into reality for every individual that dares to be different.
I didn’t go to any sort of design school but I’ve technically been designing my entire life. As a child I used to sew clothing for dolls or our pets and would spend hours drawing up elaborate sketches of outfits I then only dreamed of making. Later in my teenage years I started making clothing on my own with no formal training or patterns and went from there. I feel it’s a way of self-expression and am always pleased to find others enjoy my work although it is my own personal outlet. I’m on a never ending quest for new knowledge and constantly have my head in a book. I study historical clothing, pattern drafting, costume design, textiles, and heirloom as well as couture sewing techniques but do not limit myself there and hope to always improve and grow.
The first pieces were created out of frustration for not being able to find anything remotely close to the clothing I dreamed up in my head. Many people would see these ensembles while I was out and I was repeatedly asked where they could get one of their own. Encouraged by this, I began creating clothing lines and eventually put up my website. I’ve since placed up some of my designs that are made to be beautiful but also function for everyday wear. These collections are divided into Gothic Victorian, the traditional Gothic wear line; Yume, the Gothic Lolita and J-Rock collection, and Sinthetica, the cyber-industrial style line.
I’m planning on expanding into a men’s line as well as some special occasion apparel. I experiment with different fabrics and shapes until I’m satisfied with the feeling a piece of clothing sends off. I try to fulfill the desire in people to bring out their inner persona through their outer selves. Nothing is better to hear than someone saying they feel gorgeous in one of my pieces.
Crimson Empress is my full time job and has been now for about two years. Before then I supplemented my income with other part time jobs but as of late have been so busy with all the responsibilities my job here entails I’ve decided to focus just on designing and maintaining my business.
