About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Convergence 7, New York City
Mistress McCutchan
Right now in light of everything happening in the world, talking about Convergence seems... petty and small. Yet I figured the pictures collected were “better late than never”.
The fun, the drama the mudslinging. I think that may be an appropriate subtitle for the event that was Convergence 7 in New York City. Did unsuspecting gothlings know what they were coming to? Did any of the locals even go?
Unfortunately, Morbid Outlook was not in attendance. Boycotting Cliff? Making a statement by our absence? No, nothing really like that... considering the unemployment rate in New York and how crappy the economy is going, a lot of folks I know simply could not afford the $80 ticket. I personally would have loved to have seen the vendors’ wares and Coil, but I was in the process of moving out of my Lower East Side apartment that weekend (illegally forced out by a slumlord!) I DJed a bit at Limelight on the Friday night of Convergence weekend (a non-Convergence event) and that was that. But you know what? Life goes on, and the pictures document all the lovelies that braved it.

I have yet to go to a Convergence.
My vote for next year goes to Montreal.
