About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Mistress McCutchan
Wench
Track Listing: Chant, Radio India, Salome’s Dream, Tantra, Voodoo, Ghost, Wasteland, Jewel, Ophelia, Sidonia.
“Powerful female vocals over dark ethereal with touches of Middle Eastern influence” is the best way to sum up this album without being long-winded about it. Although that description doesn’t really do it justice. Ever since I posted the mp3 link last month, I was dying to get my hands on this album... lo and behold it was in my mailbox this past week and wow! Get this now. Steal if you must.
Propaganda – Wishful Thinking
Track Listing: Abuse, Machined, Laughed!, Loving, Jewelled, Loved, Abuse, Thought.
As far as the 80’s-album-on-repeat this month, this is it. Brilliant synth-dance... I realise this is a remix album from “The Secret Wish”, but gosh, they don’t make them like this anymore!
Gor – Laldabaoth
Track Listing: Salva Meam, Kyrie Eleison, Eximi Possit Imperio, Rosa Mistica, Inno al Demiurgo, Regis Mundum, Pneuma, Nomine Christe, Glorificatur Templi, Kalila.
New from French label Prikosnovenie, Gor is an Italian act featuring Ataraxia’s percussionist from their last tour, Francesco Banchini. Quite an esoteric combination of Christian-style chant with a droning, medieval pagan ritual. Somewhat reminiscent of Elijah’s Mantle and The Soil Bleeds Black. Beautifully unusual ethno-medieval.
Cathode Ray Tube – Subzero Sensei
Track Listing: D, All Day Sucker, Skit:Drugged, Xa, Skit:Hair Dryer vs. Fax Machine, Pioneer Spirit, Skit:Conversation, Kap Dwa, Skit:IDM, Xa 2, Skit:LA Diva, DLD Organics, Skit:Hypnagogic, Triad, Skit:Infant 5 Mos., Tremble.
A really intriguing album; sounds like a space age, futuristic soundtrack that was written in the 1970’s to be using during erotic torture sessions. Over a hour’s worth of this material is a bit tedious, but it’s certainly compelling to give some of this a listen.

A great sample of music on this Canadian compilation from shoegazery sounds to delicious darkwave. Especially wonderful to have if you’ve heard of Chocolate Grinder and Mara’s Torment yet haven’t heard them yet.
Womb – Spiteful Extractions
Track Listing: She’s A Boy, One Real Kiss, The Game, Her Dirty Body Triggered, I Want To Make You Bleed, Something’s Real, My Back Window, Shapes, Apology, Others.
Dark punk; sort of a marriage between Bauhaus and Pornography-era Cure with quite a bite. Death rock-type fans will definitely get a kick out of this.
