About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.
She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Threes Company is on.

This Ascension at Sin-é, NYC
Mistress McCutchan
July 1, 2004
It was a long Thursday, and after a dinner of craptacular Italian food, I had to be alive enough to see This Ascension, in the New York leg of a three show tour that Dru told me was just for the fun of it.
My partner-in-crime and I arrived at the Lower East Side locale, Sin-é, where various familiar faces waited along the sidewalk. New York Citys no-smoking law led some outside to satisfy their dirty habit, others hung out due to the fact that the toilets were broken and a river seemed to ooze through the clubs floor (ew, I knew there was a good reason to wear platforms!).
When we made our way in, we found some stools to perch on and prepared to sit back for a listen. Its always tough to go see a show when in such ragged condition, but as This Ascension made their way to the stage, the magic was woven. Their sound was tight, Drus voice soared through the air. It made for a lovely listening experience as the troubles of the day dissipated. If you dont already own Sever, I highly recommend picking it up.
