Ten Questions with The Mirror Reveals
Mistress McCutchan
I really enjoy music, but it doesnt necessarily mean I want to read about it. If you think band interviews/reviews are a tedious read, try writing one! I thought it would be much more interesting to gain insight on the people behind the music with just ten little questions, straight from the artists to you...
1) Chocolate or vanilla?
Kit: Neither. Sour.
James: Vanilla extract in my pancakes. Chocolate in my homemade mousse.
2) Do you have any pets and what are they?
Kit: 3 very bad cats
James: I have battery operated Godzilla toys that caused my kitty to be institutionalized.
3) Favourite place to visit?
Kit: Coney Island. The Cyclone maked me giddy... If you sit in the very last car, you can feel the wheels start to pull off the track and you can see your life flash in front of you. James: North end of Boston. Great italian food.
4) Favourite article of clothing?
Kit: I feel like I should say something really flashy and fabulous, but its probably my combat boots. Theyre ugly, but theyre as comfortable as skin, and theyve logged many a mile. James: My Calvin and Hobbes in a punk band t-shirt that a friend designed.
5) Favourite piece of art?
Kit: I dont have one favorite. Currently, Im fixating on the image of the Anima Sola. James: The cover of the Chameleons 2nd album What Does Anything Mean Basically. I blew it up to poster size and have it on my bedroom wall.
6) If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Kit: A friend told me I should be Harley Quinn. James: Underdog! Popping pills to fight crime!
7) What are you most likely to be doing at 3 am?
Kit: Cursing my next-door neighbors fondness for crappy house music. James: Drinking tea and writing.
8) Age you lost your virginity?
Kit: Too young. James: I lost it for a while but I got it back
9) What piece of advice would you give to a teenager?
Kit: Cling desperately to your sense of humor, and dont take yourself too seriously. Laughter is your best defense against the slings and arrows of angsty teendom. Wield it with pride. James: Things to avoid: republicans, Disney & TRL. All give a false sense of reality. Things to embrace: sex (its good for you), drugs (you will anyway) and something called Rock & Roll.
10) What are you most proud of to date?
Kit: The fact that Im singing and performing. Im able to do the thing that I love most thats really crucial.
James: The newest Mirror Reveals tracks and those yet to come. Always embrace the future.
