About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Ten Questions with Ashengrace
Mistress McCutchan
I really enjoy music, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I want to read about it. If you think band interviews/reviews are a tedious read, try writing one! I thought it would be much more interesting to gain insight on the people behind the music with just ten little questions, straight from the artists to you...

1) Chocolate or vanilla?
French vanilla with hot fudge sauce. It must be where ice cream goes when it dies.
2) Do you have any pets and what are they?
One pet, Simon the Housecat. He is Master of My Domain. Believe me, I’ve tried to assert dominance but it’ll never happen.
3) Favourite place to visit?
Disneyworld. Had the best trip of my life there. You can read into that any way you like.
4) Favourite article of clothing?
I hate clothes. My personal favorite is my “So many right wing christians... so few lions” t-shirt.
5) Favourite piece of art?
“The Time Traveller Visits The End Of The World” by Les Edwards. It’s the cover of the illustrated book “Alien Landscapes”.
6) If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Eeyore, definately.
7) What are you most likely to be doing at 3 am?
Answering emails, or something far more naughty.
8) Age you lost your virginity?
16. Of course she just HAD to tell me about the “boyfriend” afterwards. Sheesh.
9) What piece of advice would you give to a teenager?
Don’t get pregnant and don’t die. These are two things in life that cannot be undone.
10) What are you most proud of to date?
Some time ago I gave a former friend a copy of our first album “Drawing Down the Moon” for his critique. His answer after hearing it was “Well, David, I’m certain this was very therapeutic for you but you should really find a more productive hobby”. I remember that when one of our tracks climbs into the top 20 of various charts on mp3.com, or when someone drops a line saying how much XXXX song meant to them, or when we are contacted for an interview, or when Mike Ventarola invited Ashengrace into Hidden Sanctuary, or e-mails from bands I’ve admired telling me how much they liked it, or meeting Mike Score of A Flock Of Seagulls and hearing “Yeah, I’ve heard of you, ‘Seven’ is a great track”, or someone on the east coast buying your entire catalogue after hearing one track, or a handwritten letter from a fan in the Phillipines, etc., etc., etc.
The current album is called “Surface”. More to be seen and heard at www.ashengrace.com
