About the Author
The silly and sleepless Mistress McCutchan, otherwise known in the real world simply as Laura, created Morbid Outlook in August of 1992, while still a gothling in high school.

She is a freelance web designer, but also makes time to also design and make all sorts of stuff, DJ, dance as one-half of Serpentina as well as direct her Toronto-based troupe, The Serpentina North Ensemble. She is vegan, but not one of the pushy ones. When not working like a maniac, she can be found becoming one with the couch, especially if Three’s Company is on.

Ten Questions with Thread
Mistress McCutchan
I really enjoy music, but it doesn’t necessarily mean I want to read about it. If you think band interviews/reviews are a tedious read, try writing one! I thought it would be much more interesting to gain insight on the people behind the music with just ten little questions, straight from the artists to you...

1) Chocolate or vanilla?
Coffee.
2) Do you have any pets and what are they?
Two Akitas, one red and one snow white. They are the size of horses and I always put antlers on them when Christmas comes around. People look genuinely terrified when they drive by and see us walking past.
3) Favourite place to visit?
Happiness although it doesn’t happen as often as I would like, and fortunately is nothing like the interesting but painful movie of the same name.
4) Favourite article of clothing?
None at all.
5) Favourite piece of art?
Probably Dali’s Hypercubic Christ or something by MC Escher. Musically, I’m a big fan of the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me soundtrack.
6) If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
Do puppets count? I want to be a Thunderbird.
7) What are you most likely to be doing at 3 am?
Cursing and throwing a synthesizer against a wall because it lost a sound I just spent 4 hours designing.
8) Age you lost your virginity?
16... Although I don’t believe virginity is ever truly lost. Virginity is eternal.
9) What piece of advice would you give to a teenager?
Crawl back into the womb.
10) What are you most proud of to date?
Learning not to take myself seriously, and surviving through some really horrible situations to which I could find no real precedents. Oh and my music, yes, my music.
